She began her career by focusing on chronic pelvic pain and sexually transmitted diseases, developing expertise in these medical fields.
Her research centers on the impact of public health initiatives for socioeconomically disadvantaged women and adolescents.
She has participated in medical mission work across Cambodia, North Korea, Guam, and the Micronesian Islands.
She currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Washington-affiliated hospital and has spent over 20 years as the Head of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Tacoma General Hospital, where she practices clinical medicine.
